Brief of Product
One of high alloy steel capable of resisting corrosion in air and / or in chemical corrosive media, it acquires the anti-corrosion property due to chromium content. Each type of stainless steel has its own specific ratio of chromium with at least 18%. So far, no stainless steel is chromium-free.
Product Features
The role Chromium plays as main element of determining the characteristics of stainless steel is because Chromium added as alloy element in steel will form a fine and dense thin film of oxidized chromium, which functioned as a barrier to further intrusion of oxygen; on the other hand, Chromium and Carbon contained in steel will form stable structure that helps to reduce likelihood of corrosion. In fact, nickel along is unable to give significant change in anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation property to steel and not all stainless steel contain nickel. On the other hand, adding certain percentage of nickel and chromium, nickel can help significant improvement of the property of Chromium-Ferro structure. This is why nickel is added generally to stainless steel.
